For several years, the diocesan phase of the beatification process for Archbishop Eduard Profittlich S.J. has been ongoing in the Apostolic Administration of Estonia. This is a momentous event in the history of the Catholic Church in Estonia, which will remain in the hearts of Estonians and in the prayers of Catholics for a long time. As of March 18, 2019, the Roman phase of the beatification process has begun.
The beatification process for Eduard Profittlich S.J. began in 2003 in Russia, where the archbishop died. In 2014, the process was transferred to the Apostolic Administration of Estonia, where it had previously been connected to the process of 15 martyrs executed in Russia. The Apostolic Administration has thoroughly investigated the life, work, and martyrdom of the Servant of God Eduard Profittlich, and now the diocesan phase has concluded, and the documents have reached Rome!
As the beatification process for the Servant of God Eduard Profittlich continues in Rome, the Apostolic Administration of Estonia will incur significant costs related to it. These expenses can amount to up to 50,000 euros!
Once the Pope signs the decree of beatification, we can together begin preparations for a Holy Mass in Tallinn, where the solemn beatification will take place. The organization of the Holy Mass will entail additional costs.
