Blessed Eduard Profittlich's Chapel

A new chapel, dedicated to Blessed Eduard Profittlich, and a museum introducing the history of the Catholic Church in Estonia have been opened in the basement of the St. Peter and St. Paul’s Cathedral of Tallinn. A separate hall is also intended for exhibiting items related to Archbishop Eduard Profittlich.

About the Chapel

The chapel is used for private gatherings and recollections; children’s masses are held in the chapel every second Sunday. External groups visiting Estonia can also use the chapel for private masses, especially during the summer.

The last original letter of Blessed Eduard Profittlich to his relatives in Germany from 1941 has been placed in the chapel as a relic. Distant relatives who preserved Profittlich’s letter handed it over to the Diocese of Tallinn in May 2025. The chapel wall is adorned with a portrait painting of Blessed Eduard by artist Aapo Pukk, the original of which is located in the Vatican (gift from the Diocese of Tallinn to Pope Leo XIV, 2025).

To visit the museum and chapel, please contact Father Tomasz Materna through the parish office or by writing to info@profittlich.eu.
