An exhibition about Archbishop Eduard Profittlich of the Roman Catholic Church is on display in the Riigikogu.
This year, February 22 marked the 80th anniversary of Archbishop Profittlich’s death in Kirov prison. The Roman Catholic Church commemorates the anniversary of his death with a travelling exhibition. The exhibition reflects, both in words and images, the Archbishop’s life, martyrdom, and the process of beatification. According to its compilers, the exhibition is not only meant to introduce the life and martyrdom of a person who remained faithful to the Estonian people, but also for viewers to briefly reflect on how fragile life is and what fate and pain a person must endure as a result of a regime of evil.
The exhibition was compiled by Marge-Marie Paas and designed by Aili Mittal-Jõgiste. We thank the Riigikogu for hosting an exhibition on the history of the Catholic Church for the first time.
The exhibition will remain in the Riigikogu premises until July 2022.
